Life in Primordial Times
Approximately 250 million years ago the Triassic Age began with one of the largest catastrophies the
globe has ever seen.
95% of all species became extinct and the surviving species endeavoured to populate the newly-vacated biosphere.
By multiplication and migration the individual species try to secure majorities on the newly-arising islands of the
disintegrating super-continent of Pangaea.
Each player controls the fate of his species which coexist peacefully with other species and tries
to earn the most points by skillful development of his species.
Every player begins with a small population (herds) of plant eating dinosaurs on the super-continent of Pangaea.
The super-continent is assembled from individual hexagon tiles which indicate various terrain types.
The various terrain types offer different amounts of food where different numbers of herds from multiple players
can peacefully coexist.
The actual game is played in rounds in which each player-turn is divided into phases.
The first phase simulates the decay of the super-continent.
Individual tiles are removed from the land mass (sinking into the ocean), but new terrain surfaces out of the water elsewhere.
In Phase Two the player tries tries to save his herds by skillful movement or multiplication on the slowly changing continents.
Each player tries to attain thereby majorities on the split off continents in order to earn valuable victory points.
All actions of this phase are voluntary.
Then the player ends his turn and the next player begins.
The game ends with the meteorite impact and there is a final reckoning.
All continents which exist are scored.
Victory points are earned for having the majority of the herds on a continent.
The player with the most victory points wins.
